What to expect in the sessions with Mind Adjustment

At Mind Adjustment, every session is designed to help you feel comfortable, supported, and empowered on your journey toward better mental and physical well-being. Each type of session focuses on different aspects of your growth — from emotional healing to physical health and mindfulness.

CBT Therapy Session
Your first Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) session is an opportunity to get to know one another and create a comfortable, safe environment. You don’t need any prior knowledge of CBT — everything will be explained clearly and at your pace.

During your session, we’ll discuss:

What CBT therapy involves and how it works

Confidentiality and session structure

The number and frequency of sessions

Appointment details (cancellations, rescheduling, duration)

We’ll also explore your main challenges and goals so we can create a clear plan together. You may be invited to keep a journal or reflection diary between sessions to help monitor progress.
As part of my duty of care, I will also check that you’re safe and not at any immediate risk to yourself or others a standard practice to ensure your well-being.
CBT at Mind Adjustment focuses on helping you challenge negative thought patterns, build healthier coping mechanisms, and move toward a happier, more balanced mindset.

Health and Wellbeing, Exercise Session
These sessions are all about improving your physical fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle habits to complement your mental health journey. Together, we’ll focus on the four key pillars of fitness:

Cardiovascular Health

You’ll receive a personalized exercise and wellness plan that aligns with your health goals, integrating nutrition advice, supplement guidance, and fitness coaching.
Wear comfortable clothing and trainers for these sessions. A brief medical form will be completed before your first appointment to note any health conditions or injuries.
Sessions can take place online, at home, outdoors, or in a gym setting, depending on your comfort and preference.

Mindfulness Session
Mindfulness is the art of being fully present — aware of your thoughts, emotions, and sensations without judgment. During a Mindfulness Session, you’ll learn techniques to help you develop focus, calmness, and clarity in everyday life.
​
Sessions typically begin with guided sitting practice, where you’ll focus on your breath or body sensations in a calm, distraction-free space. We’ll also discuss your experiences between sessions, helping you deepen your understanding of mindful living.
If sitting isn’t comfortable, mindfulness can also be practiced standing or lying down — the goal is awareness, not posture.

Over time, mindfulness enhances emotional balance, reduces stress and anxiety, and fosters a stronger connection between your mind and body.
